Lazy Leaves

The other day Tricia and I were driving somewhere for some reason and were taking notice of the changing leaves. I commented that I really don't care for the yellow leaves because they're lazy and if they weren't they'd have the courtesy to change to a more interesting color.
A couple days later Tricia informed me that I was, as usual, correct about the yellow leaves. They are in fact lazy. Turns out the yellow is always there but is covered by the green of photosynthesis during the sunny months. When the sunlight drops off in the fall the green fades and the yellow is what's left. More ambitious leaves actually turn colors instead of just losing their green.
It must be great being married to me. Even when I don't mean to I'm spouting pearls of wisdom.
